We Invite You to Become an Event Sponsor and Support Our Work in Peer Support and Recovery!

Join Us for An Evening with the Honourable Patrick J. Kennedy on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Royal Ontario Museum

Your generous support will help the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario (MDAO) sustain and expand free innovative peer support and recovery programs for individuals and families affected by depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Your contribution will allow us to continue important work of building awareness, conducting education and training programs, and providing clinical support to families and youth.

You and your organization will have the opportunity…

… to meet Patrick J. Kennedy

Patrick J. Kennedy, former US Congressman and son of Senator Ted Kennedy, will be our Keynote Speaker. A passionate and engaging speaker, Patrick will share his personal and political battle with mental illness and addiction. During his 16 years in Congress, he was central in passing the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008. He continues to be a leading voice on mental illness, addiction and other brain diseases.

You will have the opportunity to meet Patrick during the night’s events. You will also receive a copy of his New York Times bestselling book, A Common Struggle.

… to make a personal connection with Inspiration Award recipients

During the evening, we will recognize two outstanding members of the community who use their experiences, skills and voices to champion the cause of mental health and improve the lives of those living with mental illness. Previous recipients are Lloyd Robertson, Michael Landsberg, Mark Tewksbury, Shelagh Rogers, Amy Sky, Senator Roméo Dallaire, Sandy Naiman, James Bartleman, and Major Patricia McInnes. All have been invited to join us this year.

… to highlight your organization’s support for mental health

As a corporate sponsor you will be making a strong statement to your stakeholders about your organization’s commitment to creating a mentally healthy society that recognizes that social stigma, economic impact and reduced opportunity are just a few of the barriers for people living with mental illnesses.

… to join with others who are passionate about mental health

Over 300 of Ontario’s business and community leaders, responsible for corporate social responsibility and workplace mental health in large corporations, attended our last fundraising event.

These individuals are passionate about mental health, and understand the dramatic impact of mental illness on individuals, families, workplaces, and communities across Ontario.

… to have fun

The event will be held at the Royal Ontario Museum and hosted by TSN’s Michael Landsberg. You will enjoy a delicious dinner at a beautiful venue, take part in an exciting silent and live auction, and chat with Patrick. The evening’s events will provide great opportunities to meet others with shared values. Beyond that, the opportunity to witness the power of peer support will affirm why your investment is so worthwhile.

… to change a life and make a difference

Support from corporate sponsors and donors helped change over 97,000 lives last year. Corporate philanthropy fuels our ability to increase peer support and recovery programming throughout the province. Peer support and recovery honours the lived experience. Research provides evidence supporting the peer recovery model.

Funds raised through corporate sponsorship will go directly to sustaining and expanding our innovative and free peer support and recovery programs – programs that are run almost entirely by volunteers in 36 communities across Ontario.

We hope you will choose to support the MDAO’s work to help individuals and families affected by mood disorders. We can’t do it without you.
